Our Activities: We undertake walks in the Romsey, New Forest and Winchester areas, principally between the River Itchen and the West of the New Forest, lasting typically between 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Members cars are used to reach the walk start and lift sharing is encouraged.
New Forest walk in October
Romsey and District walking group enjoyed a lovely walk through the edge of the New Forest. The walk was led by one of our members and she suggested, the 14 of us, stood on the bridge over the motorway and raised our arms and got the lorries to honk at us, it was a little bit of silly fun.
20th February walk to Southampton Common
We walked on Southampton Common, our walk was led by group member Bettina. This walk also took us through the grounds of Southampton University and local streets passing some amazing Herbert Collins Houses, he designed the houses and lived in Brookvale Road, Highfield, where there is a commemorative English Heritage Blue Plaque. A super 3.7 mile walk.
