Our speaker is Dr James Taylor MA (HONS) studied at St Andrews, Manchester and Sussex Universities. He is a former specialist in Victorian paintings, a former curator of the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, an author, award winning lecturer and exhibition organiser and is a specialist in British Propaganda posters of World Wars 1 and 2.
He will present the remarkable story of Fougasse (real name Cyril Kenneth Bird), who devised 'Careless Talk Costs Lives' alongside the
ingenious artists, who created the enduring images of public information for campaigns such as ' Dig for Victory,' Keep Calm and Carry On' etc.
The Talk features various posters and artworks as well.
